Random Wire Special: Inovato Quadra
November 17, 2024: Inovato is closing due to health issues, stock is still available
I write to share the news that Michael, the owner/operator of Inovato, is closing his business. The Inovato Quadra brought HamClock to many happy hams at a very affordable price.
If you’re unfamiliar with the HamClock, here’s my instance on my home computer:
The Inovato store is still open. Michael and family will continue filling orders until existing stock is gone. I just bought another Quadra (even though I don’t really need it) to help support Michael. I’ll gift the Quadra to someone down the road.
Michael emailed customers today with the news. His closing comments from his message are shown below:
It has been an honor and pleasure to help bring the fantastic HamClock by Elwood Downey to more hams. I am sorry this plug-and-play HamClock appliance will come to an end. But remember you can always make your own using a Raspberry Pi. See the excellent tutorial by G6NHU for step by step instructions.
It’s easy to forget that for many of us, amateur radio is more than a hobby: it is also a community. The support and caring of our fellow radio amateurs are often incredibly meaningful. I’m sure many of us send our best wishes to Michael. I certainly do.
