Random Wire stays put, content mirrored
This post concludes my comments on Random Wire on whether to stay or go
I took the suggestion of a couple of subscribers (thank you!) and created a mirror of Random Wire posts on a WordPress blog called Cup of Radio. Find it at https://cupofradio.com. Like Random Wire, Cup of Radio is free to subscribers. I have no plans to monetize the blog through paid subscriptions.
My misgivings about remaining on Substack will no longer be posted here. Instead, I will occasionally voice them at https://listed.to/@tsalzer. Please drop by there if you’d like to read those thoughts.
Raspberry Pi
Now that I can close the chapter on whether to stay on Substack or not, I’m happy to report another Raspberry Pi has landed on my desk. I’ll be playing working on it this weekend.
My previous build used an RPi 3B+. The new unit has an RPi 4. I’m interested in seeing the performance differences between the two.
Most of us have heard of Raspberry Pi single-board computers (SBCs). In my draft posts is a review of other SBCs. I hope to publish it in a couple of weeks. There are some powerful alternatives to RPi SBCs but as in all things, the devil is in the details.

Well folks, I think I'm going to step away from the WordPress site at https://cupofradio.com/. I stopped mirroring content some months ago and heard not a single complaint. Uptake was low and the time commitment interrupted my writing. So: the WordPress site will not be renewed. We'll see if this idea resurfaces again in the future! Meanwhile, the Random Wire Review continues on on the Substack platform.
