Great issue as always Tom! HDR is Hardware Defined Radio. Agree about not using YL, etc. not just for the reasons you outlined but because it’s cliquey, insidery terminology that makes Amateur Radio less approachable. My prime example is Elmer which is a beloved term for us older Hams, but it’s inscrutable. The word Mentor is fully equivalent and much better known, so I use that in my writing.

And I saw it elsewhere as "High Definition Radio." Whatever that means. Hardware Defined Radio makes more sense. Thank you.
