Re: QRV: Are You Ready?, Welcome to Random Wire 189: Please don't change a thing. I came to amateur radio two years ago at age 73 - your newsletter ticks all of my boxes and then some. Thoroughly enjoy every issue. Please continue as you have been doing.

Best wishes,

Tom,

Thanks for the shout-out. Our friendship has come to mean a lot to me. I know you "get it" when I speak about my 45-minute caregiving sessions and how I must squeeze in time to operate a radio or problem-solve a computer glitch. I would likely have stayed inactive or off the air back in 1971 when my first Novice license expired if not for the ham radio community. Other nerds like me who enjoy talking about common interests and, even more important to me, personal and family stories. That's what keeps me coming back. The radios are important, sure. The computers as well. Yet, when my brain is full and I can't think about technology any longer, it's the people and their stories that keep me interested. And lately, it's about "giving back". So many have done that for me over 50 years. Now, it's my turn.

73, Paul
